FitAll v6.1 Upgrade to v6.2
Details
This upgrade applies to the Personal, Standard and Research Editions of
FitAll v6.1.
FitAll v6.2 includes the following changes and enhancements:
- FitAll Research Edition version 6.2 can act as an
ActiveX (COM / Automation) server.
This means that other programs, such as data acquisition programs, written in a
variety of languages like C, Delphi, LabView and Visual Basic, can start
FitAll, transfer data to FitAll, have
FitAll do the regression analysis and retrieve the analysis
results from FitAll.
A client application, FaClient, that demonstrates how
FitAll can be controlled by another program is included with
FitAllResearch Edition.
- User defined FitAll Function Libraries, FFLs, can now
be created using Delphi 5 to 2010 and Free Pascal, an open source Pascal
compiler, available from www.freepascal.org.
(Note: Because of the changes required to make it possible to compile FFLs with
Delphi 5 to 2010 and Free Pascal, it will be necessary for you to make some
minor changes to existing custom FFLs and recompile them so that they will work
with FitAll version 6.2).
- A Check for Updates selection is now available under
FitAll's Help menu item as well as under MS Windows' menu
selection Start, Programs, FitAll62.
This makes it easier for you to check for updates and to keep your copy of
FitAll up to date.
- By default, FitAll is now installed in a directory that is
accessible to all users of the computer. This is especially important on
systems that are running MS Windows Vista or MS Windows 7.
(Note: A user with "Administrator Permissions" is still required to
install or uninstall FitAll).
- Several minor bug fixes, such as ensuring that the colour of grid lines in
a graph are properly saved and restored when the same graph window is closed
and then reopened.
This Update:
- Will install FitAll v6.2, if your computer already has
FitAll v6.1 installed on it.
- Will upgrade FitAll v6.1 Standard Edition to
FitAll v6.2 Research Edition, because the Standard Edition has
been discontinued.
- Will copy the source code of your custom, user defined functions from the
FitAll v6.1 directory to the appropriate FitAll
v6.2 backup directory so that they will be available in FitAll
v6.2.
- Will NOT uninstall FitAll v6.1.
After you have confirmed that all of your customizations are available in
FitAll v6.2, you can uninstall FitAll v6.1 from
your computer.
